Cerpus med på EU-søknad

Cerpus AS har gått inn i en EU-søknad (COST Action) sammen med en rekke emnekart-miljø i Europa. Søknaden presenterer konseptet TMWeb:

Topic Maps is a paradigm shifting, semantic information integration technology (ISO 13250). The TMweb is the vision of an integration layer of the Internet, based on Topic Maps. The TMweb will consist of pluggable Topic Maps servers, content consumers, and indexing services. In contrast to term-based approaches, information retrieval in the TMweb will be concept centric. The current standards and implemented technology are the raw building blocks of the TMweb, but a concerted action is needed to focus further developments on the advances of the TMweb. The main focus will always be scalability. Europe’s existing scientific and industrial excellence in Topic Maps provides a worldwide competitive advantage, which should be extended by this COST Action. The objective of this COST Action is to establish a community agreement on the concept of the TMweb. The COST Action should become a networking tool to orchestrate European efforts in making the vision of the TMweb real.
